TriVita Health – More Stretching Methods

For a structured stretching activity, you can try a number of exercise methods.  But be sure to consult your healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise and make sure your instructor is a certified professional.

• Yoga can help tone your muscles as well as help increase lubrication of the joints.  Plus, it’s recommended by the Arthritis Foundation.  Many people find it very soothing, and a great stress reliever.  For those with limited mobility, there is “chair yoga,” a modified version of yoga that can provide similar benefits as regular yoga.

• Pilates, although not specifically a stretching exercise, may help increase your flexibility while strengthening your core muscles.
