Omega-3 Fatty Acids

The growing number of allergic diseases affect the children in the western countries has grown over the past 30 years. According to an article by Vital Choices, entitled Mothers' Fish Oil Intake May Reduce Kids' Asthma Risk, states that Omega-3 fatty acids are important to the health of our cell membranes and immune systems.

"Omega-3s exert an anti-inflammatory influence on the immune system, and have been studied for their therapeutic or preventive potential inflammatory conditions ranging from eczema, asthma, and hay fever to rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's Disease."[1]

I've researched and written that omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and help prevent risk factors associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. These essential fatty acids are highly concentrated in the brain and appear to be particularly important for cognitive (brain memory and performance) and behavioral function.

I've stated that both omega-6 and omega-3, fatty acids are essential to your health. Each one plays a different but critical role in inflammation, metabolism, and vascular health. While high omega-6 intake is not bad, it's the omega-imbalance, especially low omega-3 intake that causes the most damage.

What does it take for some people to understand that omega-3 fatty acids are not only important to your own body , but are also essential to the health of your offspring. Consuming omega-3 fatty acids is not hard. If you don't like fish, which is the best source of omega-3, you can take a daily supplement.

TriVita's Omega Prime is a supplement that gives you the needed omega-3 fatty acid to maintain a healthy omega-3 balance.

TriVita's Omega Prime contains a premier and unique blend of four different types of the most highly regarded Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) oils – Fish, Flaxseed, Evening Primrose and Perilla Seed. It also uses only contaminant-free fish oil that has undergone a 10 stage distilling process.

Omega Prime helps meet the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. One daily dose of Omega Prime provides the amount of Omega-3 recommended by the AHA for healthy individuals, as well as for those who have heart disease or the risk of it.

We need to start taking responsibility for our children and their children by eating a healthy diet, taking a good nutritional vitamin and mineral supplement, and getting the proper quantity of omega-3 fatty acids. It's always important to check with your doctor or health professional before taking any supplements.
