Got B\'s?

Got B's what are you talking about? Well, I am referring to a prestigious group of hard working nutrients that are essential to your bod, the "B" vitamin family and their star B-12. Which by the way is responsible for increased, sustainable energy, a fantastic disease fighter and so much more, all by itself!

B vitamins as I mentioned above are a powerful alliance when enough of these little guys are absorbed into our body. Unfortunately, we don't always get the recommended amounts according to the Food and Drug Administration in our daily diet. There are many factors that contribute to a lack of these key nutrients. It isn't always due to a bad diet, even if we do eat right, such things as toxins in our soil, toxins in our air, are solid road blocks in delivering just what we need.

So who are these B's anyway?

* Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
* Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)
* Vitamin B3 (niacin or niacinamide)
* Vitamin B4 (adenine)
* Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
* Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine, or pyridoxine hydrochloride)
* Vitamin B7 (biotin)
* Vitamin B9 (folic acid)
* Vitamin B12 (various cobalamins; commonly cyanocobalamin in vitamin supplements)

These water soluble vitamins are essential to cell metabolism. When you get the whole gang together you have a B Complex ready to rival the likes of irregular heartbeat, heart failure, memory loss and other cognitive deficits to name a few.

So, just how can you be sure you are getting the recommended dosage in order to keep the B's buzzing for optimal health? Since we already know that many of the healthy foods we eat, some containing a rich source of a specific B vitamin doesn't always deliver, taking supplements can help assure you are doing all you can. However, there is one particular vitamin I mentioned earlier, the star of show, remember, B-12? Well B-12 even if conditions are right and you received a proper dose of it either through foods or supplements, doesn't always get absorbed. You see the older we get, the less B-12 is absorbed into our bodies. This star B-12 for maximum delivery, maximum results, must be taken sublingually or better known as under the tongue. Taking it like many other supplements by swallowing B-12 isn't the way this super "B" works!

Since Mother Nature can't always provide us with the most nutritious foods these days, sometimes we need a extra helping hand to reach our goals of optimal health. So remember to get your daily "B's" and don't forget good old B-12 taken sublingually! Your body will thank you!
